Board Structure Optimization

Innogyps has performed both standard test methods as well as novel test methods to improve product quality in a wide range of gypsum products. Recent work has involved the use of high resolution computed tomography (more commonly used for medical bone scans as CT or CAT scans). This has been very useful to understand details of core structure and the impact on edge formation, foam performance and core density profiles in gypsum board.

Nail Pull Test Improvement

The gypsum industry is in a constant battle to reduce the board weight of gypsum board without impacting on the performance of the ASTM nail pull test result. Innogyps has used the CT technology to develop an improved understanding of the failure mechanism and techniques to improve the nail pull performance.
